First Dollar Crossing Holiday Motel

New business owner Shawn Gould purchased the Holiday Motel last May and has a vision for the 20-unit motel. Located on U.S. Highway 2 across from the Schoolcraft County Airport, the exterior has already been renovated with new log siding, and soon the name will change to Caribou Crossings Inn, complete with, hopefully, real caribou and deer.

Gould has raised elk in the past and is looking to provide visitors with a unique experience. Schoolcraft Tourism and Commerce recently presented Gould with a “first dollar” and welcomed him and his family to the area.
