Help Us Replace the Welcome Center Porch

​​For nearly 40 years, the building at 1000 W. Lakeshore Drive has served as an important community landmark and the home of Schoolcraft Tourism & Commerce and our Welcome Center.

With the 15-foot Paul Bunyan statue out front, the Welcome Center is a familiar stop along US-2 and a welcoming window to Schoolcraft County. We help connect residents and visitors with local businesses, attractions, events, and everything our community has to offer.

Now, we need your help to replace the building’s front porch. The existing porch was constructed with untreated wood and is showing significant signs of rot, creating a potential safety concern for visitors, volunteers, and community members.
